Practicing daily on the field, the team showed champ- ionship caliber in their pre-season games. With seven letter-men bolstering the nine, the team was well balanced. Golf The sharpshooting golfers of Farrington under the superb coaching of Mr. Ernest Ing played an exciting prosperous series of golf during the season of 1948. The five teams which entered the League were Punahou, Kaimuki, St. Louis, and McKinley. The Governors club swingers scored upsets in the latter two during the first two games. Prospective members for next year are R. Masuda, S. Takahashi, H. Isokane, G. Uyeshiro, W. Fujii, and T. Kaneshige. There is an Interscholastic Golf banquet held each year after the series and the boys are always looking towards this occasion. Tennis Team The Farrington Tennis Team is bolstered by 9 returning lettermen, Lincoln Chang, Douglas Akina, Ah Biu Chang, Calvin Chong, Macario De Leon, Shinko Kuniyoshi, Edward Lau, Charles Moses, Nor- man Perreira, and Tai Yau Chung, Artemio Luis, Chun Kee Say, rookies. Lincoln Chang, Shinko Kuniyoshi, Ah Bui Chang, Calvin Chong, Macario De Leon, Edward Lau, Nor- man Perreira were real threats in the category each one played. The team is co-captained by Lincoln Chang and Douglas Akina. FRONT ROW: Lincoln Chang, Chun Kee Say, Calvin Chong, Shinko Kuniyoshi, Macario DeLeon, MIDDLE ROW: Douglas Akina.
