V099 Xilgv The Farrington Senior Basketball Team ended the much heated interscholastic battle for the prep crown with a record of eight wins and three loses. The last breaking and accurate shooting Maroon quintet was a constant threat through the season. The runner-up Governors under the Careful super- vision of Mr. Bert Itoga, molded this fighting team with live returning lettermen and several boys of last year's junior five. Much praise is given to Mr. Itoga for his time and effort which he spent in advising the boys. Although the title slipped through the hands of the defending champions, another fighting quintet is expected from the Governors which will star with two returning regulars namely, I. Tomita and G. Taguma. FRONT ROW: Itsuo Tomita, Harry Chang. Paul Chung. 2nd ROW: Harry Dantsuka, Kenneth Kahoonei, George Taguma, Placido Mercado. 3rd ROW: Walter Kaneko, Melvin Kiaaina, Moses Perkins, Ivan Kino, Wallace Tang. MNQ! The Farrington juniors won hve and lost three of their eight games this past season. Bowing to Kamehameha in their opening game by a score of 10-0, the Maroons clicked against Kai- muki in their second game, downing the Bulldogs by a 13-6 tally. The fine defensive play of Ikeda, Lee, and Wright on the forward wall, staved off a last minute threat of the Bulldogs on the Governor's one inch line. Roose- velt's Roughriders could not stop the offensive minded Maroon squad in their third encounter, and the Gov's gained a 24-0 decision. After outplaying Iolani's Crimson Tide during the entire first half, the Gov's dropped a 12-0 decision.
