Athletic Director gy -H 5 la A Mr. I toga The Varsity Football Team The Varsity Football Team under the coaching of Henry Kusunoki and Bert Itoga, played a wonderful season of football. Although out- weighed, the tiny mites of Farrington put up a great stand for their school. They played with all their strength. Mr. Kusunoki had coached the Governors Football Team for I0 years and Bert Itoga had been along-side him for the past 7 years. Thanks, Mr. Kusunoki and Mr. Itoga for the splendid job of coaching. Thanks should also go to Mr. Ken- neth McAlistet for taking care of the equipment and uniform that the football team used and all the rest of the teams that make up the sports world at Farrington. S. vs. MCKINLEY F.H.S. vs. KAMEHAMEHA Playing before a Capacity crowd of 24,000 at the Driving swiftly after seven minutes had elapsed in the opening quarter, Gilbert Nakayama, one of the Govs standouts of the fray, intercepted Roy Fernandez's pass on the Kam 57 yard and ran it back 16 yards to the 21 to set up the first touch- down. Scoring in 2 plays, Young ripped off nine yards through tackle on the Hrst play. Raymond Keanoano then scrampered the remaining 12 yards to paydirt. Kaneko standing on his own 48, shot a bullet pass Stadium, the fighting Governors dropped their first game in two starts by a score of 12-0 to the CChampionJ McKinley Tigers. The powerful run- ning attacks of the Micks were just too much for the Govs to handle. Their line charged hard to smother the vaunted passing of Walter Kaneko. Henry Lum, sparked the Micks offense scoring both of their touchdown.
