Because they do not have enough time to vvaste on one of the liner arts mus1c Their tlme is consumed too fully on other things which do not even begin to com pare w1th mus1c Music IS an entertainment field by itself Iust imagine how dull and boring IL would be with out music' Music IS used in the makmg of the movies plays radlo and television programs and many other forms of enjoyment Can you mus1c? The results of these productions vvould be dlsappomtmg There 1S to my knowledge no movie that has ever been produced which d1d not have some music whether lt rs part of the mam theme or in the background Without music there would be no radro or television pro grams which m1ll1ons of people listen to or watch every day Surely mus1c IS lmportant in the production of all of these pleasures As for another form of recreation there are the dances Practically every average citizen likes to dance 111 some way or other whether IIS the waltz tango IIIICYIJUE or even the mambo Certainly if there were no music danclng wouldnt exist For the people vvho don t care for the jazzy side of music there are the classical selections Some people would like to see a good opera Others would just like to s1t back in a comfort able chair and listen to the records on the record player Still others may enjoy playing music on an instrument or possibly smgmg ll Also music IS a very fine way to meet new fr1ends Whether you play an lnstrument sing or just enjoy listening to it you can always find some person who enjoys the same type of music as you do Certainly everyone should enjoy music in one form or another Ierry Ingalls 57 n I , - . ,. ., - 1 - . r' , v 9 . . i . .
