Those who will return next fall include Captain Otto Stridiron, .lack Ebert, Herb Weiss, Bob Boyland, George Cavooris, Joe Festa, .lack Wilkenfeld, George Colton, Bob Sullivan, and Howie Schwartz. ,f. ,c's , i ,- If' 'Qs' ' 6 01 . 1 41' ',f ,a Baseball -Sheldon Sakowltz As this story goes to press, the Far Rockaway High School baseball team has participated in five games, losing all five. It is hoped that the team will sud- denly find itself and live up to its pre-season expectations. The Rockets opened the season by losing 7-2 to a potentially strong Madison nine. Rockaway outhit the Presidents 6-2 but they also out-errored them 6-2. Bob Levey starred with two hits. In the PSAL opener, Newtown came out vic- torious in a game played at Cedarhurst Stadium. The Pioneers tallied all its 3 markers in the third inning while the Sea Horses garnered its tally in the fourth inning. Forest Hills showed that experience means little when it chalked up its first baseball win in the history of the school against the hapless Beachmen. The score was 3-1 with the Red and Blue collecting only two safe blows, one of which was a home run by Sheldon Sakowitz. In a non-league contest, the hitters finally found their batting eye but the pitching collapsed as Lincoln eked out a 12-10 verdict. The Seasiders assumed leads of 3-0, 5-1, and 9-8 but they could not hold the advantage. Herb Mass notched 3 hits, Bob Levey and Ed Donchey getting 2 bingles apiece. :S , Z.. -4 .
