Seniors, anxiously waiting the time before their commencement exercises begin, have mixed feelings about graduating. Neal Schatz and Teresa Fritz were the top two juniors, scholastically, and led in the Seniors on graduation night. These three guys. Scott Bek. Dennis Auffert. and Rick Meyer, seem relieved as they know this will be the last time they will be FCHS students. Above — Senior Class sponsor Mr. White lined the Seniors up for the processional. Below — Dr. Jerry Gallentine. President of Peru State College, spoke to the Class of I98S at the ceremonies. Graduation ceremonies for the Class of 1983 were held in Jug Brown Stadium on the pleasant evening of May 22. The ceremonies began with the invocation given by the Vicar Jerry Brown, followed by the Baccalaureate message given by the Rev. Frank Maurer. Dr. Jerry Gallentine spoke to the graduating seniors. He delivered a message on the education report which was recently released and went over the recommendations made by the report. Diplomas were then handed out by the school board members. The Benediction was given by Vicar Jerry Brown. The ceremonies were brought to a close with the recessional. The band accompanied the graduates during the processional and recessional. As the graduates walk out to the music of the recessional there is no turning back; they know not what the future will bring, but each one of them will make the best of it. Graduation 29
