Homecoming ’75 The homecoming activities were kicked off by a spirited crowd at a roaring bonfire on Thursday. October 9. 1975. The varsity cheerleaders led the cheers. Coach Butler made a victory speech, and the pep band played the school songs. The Thespians showed their spirit by doing a skit on the meaning of football. Friday afternoon, the spirit continued through out the Homecoming parade. The winners in the float contest were: First. German Club; Second. Junior Class; and Third. Chorus. There were also many colorful posters hanging from the stadium walls. A pep rally followed the parade and Mr. Vanderheiden gave a victory speech. Before the game, the band marched through town and around the high school track playing both school songs. Friday night the Tigers came through to smash the Hiawatha Redskins 32-8. During half-time. Joni Hihath was crowned queen and Mark O'Banion was crowned king. 30
