SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Dust off the book-worm holes and dust the cobwebs out of your heads and remember when, in September, 1958, we entered the halls of Falls City High for the first time and started down that long dusty road of knowledge. To lead us on with an unfaltering step, we chose as our class officers: President, David Martin; Vice-President, Sandra Kelley; Secretary, Linda Murphy; Treasurer, Connie Carter; members of the Activities Committee, Carolyn Christy and Violet Vogele. Some students carried their burdens lightly and made the honor roll. These included Kenneth Arnold, Carol Sue Hall, Harriett Hunker, Marilyn Jilek, Roger Kennedy, Marjorie Martin, Della Mae Meyer, Karen Noll, Barbara Tubach, John Williams, and Richard Zentner. Some joined the band and attended the District Instrumental Contest and Band Day. They were Carole Armbruster, Bill Carlson, Connie Carter, Jim Crooker, Jeffrey Falter, Jerry Gilliland, Sherry Gray, Carol Sue Hall, Harriett Hunker, Marilyn Jilek, Sally Kelly, Roger Kennedy, Betty Klaus, Paula Lee, David Luke, Marilyn Mar met, Marjorie Martin, Della Mae Meyer, Dennis Meyer, Karen Noll, Janice Prior, Carol Thornton, and Barbara Tubach. We also had several canaries in the crowd. Sherry Gray and Gloria Johnson went to the District Choral Contest. A swift-footed lad, Bob Shorb, won a letter in track. We had survived the deep furor of heckling and razzing that is assigned to poor little green Freshmen. We retired from the harness for several months of leisure. In September, 1959, we returned as Sophomores and sharpened our wits for a hard year’s work. Our sponsors were Mr. Coba and Mrs. Lunsford. We elected our class officers: President, Bill Carlson; Vice-President, Sherry Gray; Secretary, Bill Boose; Treasurer, Violet Vogele. Members of the Activities Committee were Vicki Darling and Sandra Kelley. Our bright and shining lights this year were the following: Kenneth Arnold, Carol Sue Hall, Harriett Hunker, Roger Kennedy, Betty Klaus, Della Mae Meyer, and Karen Noll. Leading the band were our majorettes: Carole Armbruster, Connie Carter, Marjorie Martin, and Della Mae Meyer. Those attending the District Instrumental Contest at Auburn were Carole Armbruster, Bill Carlson, Connie Carter, Jerry Gilliland, Sherry Gray, Carol Sue Hall, Marilyn Jilek, Sally Kelly, Roger Kennedy, Betty Klaus, Paula Lee, David Luke, Marilyn Marmet, Marjorie Martin, Della Mae Meyer, Dennis Meyer, Karen Sue Noll, Janice Prior, Carol Thornton, and Barbara Tubach. Attending the District Choral Contest were Nancy Campbell, Connie Carter, Leslie Conley, Sherry Gray, Marilyn Jilek, Gloria Johnson, Marjorie Martin, Della Mae Meyer, Elaine Muller, Karen Noll, Janice Prior, Carol Thornton, and Nancy Wergin. Those attending the Peru Choral Clinic were Marilyn Jilek, Marjorie Martin, Della Mae Meyer, Karen Noll, and Carol Thornton. Representing us at the Peru Scholastic Contest were Lynne Cramer, Carol Sue Hall, Harriett Hunker, Roger Kennedy, Betty Klaus, and Della Mae Meyer. Roger Kennedy and Barbara Tubach went on the United Nations’ Pilgrimage sponsored by the Oddfellows and Rebekahs during the summer vacation. Our representatives to All-State were Sherry Gray and Roger Kennedy. Members of the F.F.A. were Dennis Meyer and Leonard Vonderschmidt. Our outstanding athletes this year were Dick Gilkerson and David Martin, who lettered in football; and Bob Shorb, in track. Our long journey was now half over. The future was bright, and we had a few months to rest our weary minds under a cool shade tree. In September, 1960, we came back as Juniors with a light and springy step. Our leaders this year were the following: President, Bill Boose; Vice-President, Richard Zentner; Secretary, Sandra Kelley; Treasurer, Dwight Blet-scher; Activities Committee, Violet Vogele and Lorna Wagner. Our sponsors were Miss Fase, Miss Shook, Miss Ehrenberger, Mr. Petersen, and Mr. Eckman. Honor roll students this year were Bill Boose, Carol Sue Hall, Jo Anne Howard, Harriett Hunker, Roger Kennedy, Betty Klaus, Della Mae Meyer, Linda Miller, Karen Noll, and Richard Zentner. Those attending the District Instrumental Contest at Peru were Bill Carlson, Jerry Gilliland, Sherry Gray, Carol Sue Hall, Sally Kelly, Roger Kennedy,
