SENIOR CLASS HISTORY On September 2, 1952, we entered F. C. H. S. as green freshmen to begin a most important phase of our journey on the sea of life. Our captains during this first year were Mrs. Kline and Mr. Jeffers. We thank them for helping us through this tedious year. We elected the following officers: Karl Faller, president; Mike Zinn, vice-president; Barbara Wiar, secretary-treasurer; Betty Zoeller and Kenneth Bucholz, activities committee. We were very well represented in physical education, band, and chorus. Attending the District Music Contest at Peru were Lorna Andrews, Janet Bertram, Jim Colbert, Karl Faller, Lowell Gaither, Shirley Goodell, Neal Grantham, Jim Hahn, Karleen Hanika, Eddie Hartman, Nancy Kunkel, Pat Martin, Janie Philpot, Billy Shelly, Charles Taylor, Myrtle Veach, David Weaver, Ramona Wiss-man, Janice Wright, and Duane Zentner. Fred Cook and John Schepman represented our class at the District Speech Contest at Peru. Those attending the Peru Music Clinic were Pat Martin, Charles Taylor, David Weaver, and Duane Zentner. Our Honor Roll included Lorna Andrews, Larry A pel, Barbara Babbitt, Mary Ann Bacakos, Janet Bertram, Arlene Bunge, Shirley Gilbert, Shirley Goodell, Eddie Hartman, Allen Heineman, Karen Lohmeyer, Nancy Rieger, Bill Shelly, Charles Taylor, David Weaver, Barbara Wiar, Charlene Wieting, Steve Wiltse, Virginia Winsor, Janice Wright, Juanita Prater, and Duane Zentner. This was the year our Boys’ Quartet had its beginning with David Weaver, Charles Taylor, Duane Zentner, and Lowell Gaither. In sports, Lowell Gaither won a letter in track. Larry Apel won an F. F. A. Project Award. With this, we ended the first in the four years we were to spend at F. C. H. S. After three short months of vacation, we returned to F. C. H. S. as upper lower classmen, namely, sophomores. Under the very able guidance of Miss Jorn and Miss Sheehan, we elected the following officers: Kenneth Bucholz, president; Rosemary Eitel, vice-president; Patty Bucholz, secretary-treasurer; Sandra Hook and Steve Wiltse, Activities Committee. We were again very well represented in band, chorus, and physical education. Those who attended the District Music Contest at Peru this year were: Janet Bertram, Lorna Andrews, Jim Colbert, Jerry Eickoff, Karl Faller, Lowell Gaither, Shirley Goodell, Neal Grantham, Jim Hahn, Karleen Hanika, Nancy Kunkel, Karen Lohmeyer, Pat Martin, Annalee Rannebeck, Janie Philpot, Nancy Rieger, Kay Schreiber, Bill Shelly, Charles Taylor, Myrtle Veach, David Weaver, Kay Wetmore, Barbara Wiar, Charlene Wieting, Steve Wiltse, Virginia Winsor, Ramona Wiss-man, and Duane Zentner. This year Duane Zentner was vice-president of the band. John Schepman represented us at the District Speech Contest at Peru. Attending the District Music Clinic at Peru were Jim Colbert, Pat Martin, Charles Taylor, David Weaver, Steve Wiltse, and Duane Zentner. Mary Ann Bacakos was a G. A. A. officer. Those attending Band Day at Lincoln included Jim Colbert, Janie Philpot, Myrtle Veach, Bill Shelly, and Duane Zentner. Our class was well represented on the Honor Roll by Janet Bertram, Lorna Andrews, Larry Apel, Barbara Babbitt, Arlene Bunge, Jane Foster, Shirley Goodell, Karen Lohmeyer, Delores Neeld, Juanita Prater, John Schepman, Bill Shelly, Charles Taylor, Barbara Wiar, Charlene Wieting, Steve Wiltse, Virginia Winsor, and Janice Wright. This proved to be an outstanding year for our class in sports. Jerry Collier, Karl Faller, Charles Malcolm. Jerry Thomas, David Weaver, and Mike Zinn earned their letters in football; Jerry Collier, Jim Shively, and Charles Taylor earned their letters in basketball; Benny Bachman, Jerry Collier, Karl Faller, Lowell Gaither, Charles Taylor, David Weaver, and Duane Zentner earned their letters in track. Edward Hartman and John Schepman represented our class on the school golf team. Larry Apel and Benny Bachman received F. F. A. Project Awards. Thus we had half of our high school years behind us and we looked ahead to the two years to come. After three months, we again returned to F. C. H. S. as proud juniors looking forward to the eventful year ahead. This year we were advised by our sponsors, Miss Jorn and Miss Sheehan. We elected the following class officers: Charles Taylor, president; Jerry Collier, vice-president: Shirley Goodell, secretary-treasurer; Mary Ann Bacakos, Pat Martin and Duane Zentner, Activities Committee. Our class did exceptionally well in band, chorus, and physical education. Those attending the Peru District Music Clinic were Jim Colbert, Karen Lohmeyer, Annalee Rannebeck, Janie Philpot, Bill Shelly, David Weaver, Charlene Wieting, Steve Wiltse, and Duane Zentner. Janet Bertram, Jim Colbert, Charles Taylor, David Weaver, and Duane Zentner represented our class at the State Music Clinic at Beatrice. The following persons went to Peru District Music
