Senior Class History The story you are about to hear is true, taken from the files of Falls City High School. My name is Pat McGuire, Class Historian. For four years, a group of 105 students have spent their time in this school and have received nothing for it but credits. My job: to write the Class History. The day: September 4, 1951. Time: 9:05 A. M. Scene: The halls of F. C. H. S. have been invaded by 105 Freshmen. The poor little dears died a thousand deaths from looks given to them by the Almighty Seniors, the lofty Juniors, and the snobbish Sophomores. However, Miss Graves, Mr. Simon, and Mr. Hansen came to their rescue as their class wardens. Under their protection, the students elected the following class officers: President, Ann Bedwell; Vice-president, Nels Kjeldsen; Secretary-treasurer, Bob Miller; Student Activity Committee, Mary Beth Lennemann and Patricia Darling. With this move made, the pinched lines of fear left their faces and bright smiles reigned there. Their eagerness to participate was shown when you heard their young voices in chorus, heard their flat notes in band, saw their boundless energy in Physical Education, and bowed to their intelligence when they made the Honor Roll. The following students attended Band Day in Lincoln: Beverly Ankrom, Ann Bedwell, Marilyn Ebel, Barbara Gilliland, Virginia Griffiths, Marjorie Hartman, Mary Beth Lennemann, Susan Mitchell, Marlene Prior, Dan Sargent, Connie Schock, Duane Schmutzer, Ronald Speers, and Larry Steadman. Marlene Prior was majorette. In football, Gary Adams, Jim Lunsford, and Julie Zimmerman won their awards. In basketball, Nels Kjeldsen received honors. However, Gary Adams, Jim Lunsford, Julie Zimmerman, and Nels Kjeldsen all won track awards. Thus, the inmates ended one phrase of the four years to come. After a three months convalescent period, they again ventured into the grey halls of Falls City High; this time as the snobbish Sophomores. This year they held a secret meeting and saluted Miss Shook, Miss Fase, and Miss Oberlender as their sponsors. For class officers, the following were elected: President, Jerry Buchholz; Vice-president, Virginia Griffiths; Secretary-treasurer, Marilyn Ebel; and Student Activities Committee, Connie Schock and Larry Sailors. With the guidance of these capable people, they now held their heads higher. Again in football they honored F. C. H. S. with letters earned by Nels Kjeldsen, Jim Lunsford, Jerry Buchholz, Gary Adams, and Julie Zimmerman. In Basketball, letters were received by Gary Adams and Nels Kjeldsen, while track letters were awarded to Gary Adams, Nels Kjeldsen, Jim Lunsford, Julius Zimmerman, Jerry Buchholz, Milan Quigley, and Jim Sefried. Those who went to the Peru Chorus Clinic were: Ann Bedwell, Marilyn Ebel, Barbara Gilliland, Virginia Griffiths, Susan Mitchell, Marlene Prior. The following students attended the Band and Vocal Contest at Auburn: Marilyn Ebel. Virginia Griffiths, Ann Bed-well, Alan Lennemann, J. D. Kelly, Susan Mitchell, Marlene Prior, Beverly Ankrom, Roger Eickhoff, Harold Suedmeier, Bob Miller, Dan Harper, Pat McGuire, Sondra Mumm, Ruth Bek. Again they held Honor Roll honors with Thelma Eickhoff, Sondra Mumm, Sandra Stednitz, Joy Smith, Verna Crawley, Kay Ludwig, Susan Mitchell, Ann Bed-well, Milan Quigley, Nels Kjeldsen, Larry Steadman, and Dan Sargent topping the list. For the third consecutive year they entered F. C. H. S., ready to keep up with the steps of the haughty Seniors. It was like a heady wine to see the lower classmen look at them in awe and wonder. They began the year right by electing the following as ring leaders: President, Nels Kjeldsen; Vice-president, Susan Mitchell; Secretary-treasurer, Kay Ludwig; and Activity Committee, Ann Bedwell, Jerry Buchholz, and Jerry Faller. All this was accomplished with the help of their class sponsors, Miss Shook and Miss Fase. Students attending Band and Chorus Clinic at Peru were: Dan Sargent, Susan Mitchell, Larry Sailors, Ann Bedwell, Barbara Stewart, Pat McGuire, Virginia Griffiths, Beverly Ankrom, Marlene Prior, Sondra Mumm, Alan Lennemann, Mary Beth Lennemann, Julia Dowell, Audrey Bauer, Marilyn Ebel, Roger Eickhoff. Mary Lou Haeffele, Harold Suedmeier. The following students were present at the District Band and Vocal Contest at Peru: Connie Schock, Pat Darling, Marilyn Ebel, Norma Davidson, Norma Hunzeker, Audrey Bauer, Ann Bedwell, Ruth Bek, Beverly Ankrom, Mary Beth Lennemann, Dan Sargent, Jim Lunsford, Virginia Griffiths, Marlene Prior, Susan Mitchell, Bob Larkin, Alan Lennemann, Duane Schmutzer, Bill Jahn, Roger Eickhoff, Harold Suedmeier, Nels Kjeldsen, Larry Sailors, Larry Steadman, Larry Little, Tim Zinn. Ann Bedwell and Susan Mitchell were members of the Band Executive Board. Girls receiving first G. A. A. awards in Physical Education were Eleanor Werner, Sandra Stednitz, Thelma Eickhoff, Sondra Mumm, Pat Darling, Joy
