Geral JC son, cz gzfgaff .cgaaion Dec 13 Falls City started the 1946 47 season by whlppmg Pawnee a conference foe 55 22 on the Indians court Dec 20-The next week Falls City was host to the York basketball team and was eked out 38 35 an 2 Fremont came to Falls City wlth a highly touted team and was defeated at the hands of the Tigers 39 26 an 3 Falls City teed off on the Auburn Maples to win a second conference game 51 30 an 7 Nebr City came to Falls City with a powerful conference team but were sent back to Nebr City with a 31 16 defeat Jan 10 Tecumseh at Falls City was an easy game so the Tigers swept through with a 4th conference win 36 29 an 14 Hiawatha was host to the F C Five and was defeated 43 31 by the Tlgers an 16--Falls City traveled to Beatrice and was defeated by the Orangemen 41 37 an 24 Falls Clty played a fighting game at Fairbury and conquered the Jeffs Jan 28 Falls City battled to wm an overtime to clnch the Southeastern conference by winning over Nebr City 37 36 an 31 Northeast came to Falls City with an undefeated team and kept that honor by defeating Falls City ID the dying moments of the game 35 32 Febr 4 Falls C1ty played Auburn at Falls City and closed the conference games by winning 41 31 Febr 14-Creighton came to Falls City and beat the Tigers 39 31 Febr 21 The 'IHgers traveled to Llncoln and were set back by the powerful Lincoln club 56 25 Febr 25 Omaha North was host to Falls City and defeated the F C Five 44 38 Febr 28 Falls City ended the 1946 47 season District Falls City was teamed up with Te cumseh to play the first night and the Tigers were defeated by the Indians 45 27 'E Note at bottom of page Basgetff fsffszmen BOB-'BURTON JIM coNN BILL FARMER JIM WADDLE Senior Forward Bob was a con slstent player on defense and on offense He was an all conference selection md elected Honorary Captain BOB TITUS Junlor Forward Jlm although he was a substitute was always ready to mix lt up with the oppon ents He will be a great help to next years team Sophomore Center Bill was the tallest man on the squad and was a hard rebounder off both goals He will be one of the main coga next year Senior Guard Bob was a fine guard and usually took good care of the speedy men He was al ways in the game fighting hard Junior Forward Jim was our high scorer for the year and was al ways grabbing the ball from the opponents to score He was an TOM POLLARD Senior Guard Tom was a good ball handler and was always calm shooting from way out he was consistently racking up points All Conference selection GERALD JACKSON Senior Guard Gerald worked good 1n the pivot spot and often faked the man out of position to score if PETE SMITH Senior Guard Pete worked fine under the basket and was always breaking in to score Because of the use of an ineligible player Falls Clty forfeited the games played in the first semester .
