mud? The varsity wonthe Modoc-Lassen League championship easily. They were led by Dave Bate, a Senior, who was astand-out performer all year. Dave established a new school record in the 880 - the time was 2:07.9. Other strong point-getters were Bill Hanan in the pole vault 111' 3 J and Ernie Bruce, co-holder of the school high-jump record at 5' 1O . Jim Casaurang, the only sophomore on the var- sity showed great promise for the future in the high hurdles. DAVE BATE

JOHN OSPITAL 67' The C team was the best team Fall River High School has ever had. The little guys were Valley Division Champions, easily defeating Enterprise. The Bullpups missed being NorthernCalifornia Champions by 1 1!l6 points, losing to Enterprise. Missing the final meet were Stan Cunningham, with an injury and Joe Fulkerson, our stand-out pole vaulter. John Ospital, voted the best track man in school, defended his Northern California 330 Championship f:37.8J. He set school records in the broad jump 119' 10 Jg the shot put 47' 7 as well as his:37.8 in the 330.
