I O C AROL THOR LAKSSON Ed Bartel and Norman Carlson have been picked to attend Boys' State, in Sacramento. The boys were selected by afaculty committee on the basis of leadership, scholarship, and character. Ed will be sponsored by the Burney American Legion Post, while the Fall River American Legion Post will sponsor Norman. They will spend one Week at Boys' State par- ticipating and gaining practical experience in state, county, and city government. This year's delegate to attend Girls' State is Carol Thorlaksson. Carol was chosen by members of the faculty to attend Girls' State at Davis for a week this summer. To be able to attend Girls' State requires having outstanding qualities in leadership, good character, citizenship, a high schol- astic rating, and the ability to co-operate with others. aw' ED BARTEL NORM CARLSON
