Our Knowled e of the Art is such a large field, that only basic funda- mentals can be taught in a year. Fairmontis art in- structors, Miss Rachel Urick and Mr. Earl Callo- way, try to give their students a broad apprecia- tion for art which may lead to a job or just a pleasant avocation. Art instruction is given to the pupil not only to increase his ability with the hrush hut to develop creatiyeness in sculpture. ceramics. and copper enameling. Class sessions are conducted in an in- formal manner and students may specialize in any phase of art after they learn the fundamentals. The hest art works are selected for competition in the Scholastic Art contest. Art students are promi- nent on decoration committees for school dances, too.
