THE DDAGDN HISTORY CF THE CLASS OF 35 l'lE present Senior class was graduated en masse from the eighth grade on Thursday June 4 T931 Thus most promnsmg graduatlng class conslsted of eleven students from Pasadena, twenty three students from Southern l'l1lls and ten students from Dorothy Lane Robert l-lartsock and Carlyle Burson were student speakers ln our Freshman year we were under the apt leadership of Robert l'lartsock and Raul Bushong, president and vlce presldent respectively The Class ranked above the State medlan ID tests ID Algebral General Scnence and English IX Robert l-lartsock placed flfth In the Miami Drstr1ct Scholarship test In Algebra l Charles Wllke and hrs trombone represented the Class IU the Luterary Contest All this whale Kenneth Shank Frank Whlpp and Raul Bushong were startlng upon athletic careers that were to brmg fame and honor to Fanrmont and to themselves Paul Bushong was the president and Frank Whlpp and Dorothy Muller were co vlce presldents of our Sophomore class Qur membershnp was swelled by the enrollment of Mad Ruver students The Class sponsored a skating party Robert l-lartsock piloted the Junlor class, Julia Dexter was second In command Monda l-lott Kenneth Shank, Ardythe Shoup June Rlchart, Ed Wetdllch Julia Dexter and Paul Bushong had leads In the Junior class play The Goose l'langs l-hgh Eight Juniors were on the basketball squads The Junior Senuor receptlon was the funal triumph of the year And now the end of this eventful hlstory Paul Bushong and James Jackson were elected president and vlce president respectively of the class of 35 Durlng the year Paul Bushong Kenneth Shank Don Robeson Frank Whrpp John Gochoel Robert Nlorter, Tony Nosll, William Cualnes Richard Yarger Charles Bowermaster James Jackson Robert hlartsock and Harry Rerklns made history on the grldlron and on the court Fairmont s new athletic plant made for a most successful football season Four out of the flve posltnons on the squad that held the Waterloo Wonders to a fave pount lead were fllled by Seniors lncldentally, the largest crowd ever to see a basket ball game In Dayton witnessed this court classic The Publication Club, sponsored by Mlss l'lartsock and Mr Somers has been doing a mnghty fnne plece of work on the monthly as well as the annual publlcatson The Sensor play looms as the fmal project of the year The Class of 1935 sugns off ROBERT PRESTON our class orator x E 10 BD I , .. ,. , 1 1 - ' 1 I - I - 1 1 I 1 1 I I I . . .. .
