The school doctor has been eliminated. The size ot all class sections has been increase . Teachers' sick leave has been eliminated and substitute teachers pay reduced. Pupils Reading oirc'e books tor his school year were not purv chased bythe Board ot Education. All ot these methods ot retrenchment have been absolutely necessary. Many ot the home owners ot Van Buren Township, have been unable to meet their tax obligations. This is through no tault ot their own. Unquestionably real estate is 1 aring t o geat a portion o the taxa ion our en, .eif rrust corre. Under our present 'hoci aws the r a e a e wner must pay the Page Eig ht great portion ot the school tax Many children come trorn homes where no real estate owned and a result little or no school t s pad These children however receive the come trorri homes ot owners ot real estate w plans ot school tinancing are bei o developed sh tting a arge part ot the sch ol tax trom real estate and malcing a more equit akle distribution ot these taxes Patrons ot Van Buren Township should urge the adoption t th's new school inancing plan, because it will relieve the over-taxed real estate owner and equalize tn, entire system ot school tinancing. Plans tor the next school year are indetinite. The Board ot Education 's determined to l' e within its inccrre. On the other hand its mem- be s are sincerely desirous ot giving the people t the tov nship a school system as etticient as is po.sible under existing conditions.
