ecology days the word uttered among the troops was WOR7f Everywhere WOR T prevailed. The message carried the power as a password to cleanliness. Had we a plan, it would surely have rained from the Heavens like an overgrown snowflake, scriptured with WOR T. Week of Operation Rubble Trouble was a plague of locusts literally sweeping over the lawns to devour all litter. Pale cans of discard were spiced with the work of anonomous artists eager to enhance the environment. A frog of a word, WOR T. Black arm bands march about with.. dignity and purpose. The insignia bore the wishes of all civilizations that in vain hoped to succeed. Peace. Peace was the cry and peace was the object of demand to a war in which American men fought. But alas, they called it not a war for it was undeclared. The day marks a moritorium to end the war and all over the nation, and here at FHS. Participants gatered and cried for an end. A day not to be forgotten, a Moritorium. A slight return The sun shone like radiating victory proclaiming itself ruler of the Heavens. 7200 strong, the Lake Berryessa Brigade marched in crowded cars, loaded trucks, doubled cycle riders, and truckin , the thumb pointers' platoon. They charged up hills, back roads a?id highways to all destinations, other than the campus. Many sighted as target zero the revered rock of Lake Berryessa and encamped around the lake in smaller bands spread out like cattle in a thunder storm. 300 brethren stayed behind,' Vbut alas what could they do with empty class rooms? They stood vigil upon the slender green communities of the campus turf in conversation with one another. It was an overwhelming campaign that Monday in '77, and we the troops of assault drifted home as the noon hours wore on. Never to be forgotten, a slight return .... journey to another day. When all looked as if a bleak rain would thunder down from the Heavens, the declaration came that the bonfire would be burned two hours early. So it was, at 4:00 PM the torches were lit, the super structure was set ablaze, and the sun thundered into existence proclaiming itself with fury to master even the clouds. The sun reigned that day. Yet, thefire was beautiful. A slight return .... A new Administration! To some the idea brought fear. Fear of a closed campus, new dress codes, and terrible rumors. False fears! Much has been done, and still more will be done. Good things have been accomplished, oand we hope good things will continue to be accomplished. A slight return When will I follow? The thoughts would float upon your mind as black and red robed figurines shuffled in orderly legions. Frozen anxiety and suppressed inner light showed upon many an eye. And there you sat, emotion running through like super charged lightening, joy that your friends could be free, sorrow at their departure. And as they arose to finally ascend to ultimate ends, you sat and dreamed . . . Nextyear, its me! Now is the time to take your mind and seek the faces of the past. Ghostsof the past whose personalities, gestures and conversations ' have burned impressions in your memory. Some were close friends whose company you cherished. Others were perhaps near acquaintances -found able the delivery end of a . dodge ball, as an opponent in a tennis match, or sitting opposite at a lunch table. They could be found anywhere. They brought conversation and company. Travel this last return and you have traversed the road that only you may travel. Your own private treasure, the fore ver priceless.
