Fairfield Toasts Basketball and Wrestling The winter sports banquet v as held on March 16, 1972. The guest speaker was Mr. Kieth Dougherty who is the varsit ' basketball coach at Elkhart High School. He coached the successful Blue Blazers to the State championship games in 1970-1971. Mr. Gary Harvey was the Master of Cere- monies. Wrestling awards were presented by Mr. Weaver to the most outstanding players. The varsity basketball awards were presented by Mr. Terry Rickard. The freshman and Jr. Varsity basketball teams, Jr. Varsity wrestlers and cheerleaders were also honored. Doug Swinehart «as MVP and had most lake downs. Bob Alvarez received trophies for field goals, rebounds, and North- ern State Conference. Donn Huber was MVP, Northern State Conference, and received the free throw trophy. Doane Bru- baker was also a conference champ. Coach Dougherty makes a point that has Mr. Harvey thinking. Mr. Harvev. another Bert Parks

Fall Sports Honored Bob Davenport, Former All-American football player and Founder of Won- dering Wheels was the guest speaker for the Fall Sports Banquet. Jack Schroder was the master of cere- monies. Awards were presented to the outstanding players in football, cross country and tennis. Football awards were presented by Mr. Weaver to the most successful football team in Fairfield history. Mr. McKibben pre- sented tennis awards to the conference champions and the Cross-country a- wards were presented by Mr. Dallman. Bob Davenport tells them about a humorous incident. Doug Swinehart and Dick Rohrer most taclcles; Don Wearver MVP. Bob Alvarez is MVP and Fred Fisher is most im- prived in Cross-country. Donn Huber wins MVP in Tennis.
