A t vuLS GECKJE (Baaed on the novol of tho same name by John Pox, Jr.) Chad, a seventeen year old mountain waif, la picked up on the road and brought Into the fine home of Major Calvin Buford, a Kentucky uriatocrat. The major gives Chad hla name and wishes to raise the boy aa his own, but gossip about the fact that the boy knows nothing of his parentage, and the ridicule of the Major's neighbors and their daughter, Margaret, with whom Chad has fallen in love, finally drove the boy back to Kingdom Come, where folks don't keer who or what I be. When the boy Is gone, the Major's sister and neighbors realize that they have grown to love him, but Chad will not come back. A dying mountaineer confesses th8t chad is a direct descendant of one cf the Buford clan who lad settled in the mountains many years before. He has In hla possession a ring worn by Chad's mother, which tears the Euford family crest. Eager to bring Chad the happiness he seeks, his mountaineer friends go on foot to the Buford home to clear up the mystery surrounding Chad's birth. Restored to his proper place in life, after a year at the University. Chad returns to the Blue Grass and wins the hand of Margaret and the respect and admiration of all. 16
