0g 1957 SENIOR CLASS HISTORY As we look back on our twelve years at Fairfield School we recall many un- forgettable moments. In the year 1945 we came into this building where Evelyn Albright welcomed us. Remember the day jim Pike pushed Betty Ferguson in the waste basket and she had to be dumped out? Lulu Bierman's tea-kettle clock intrigued us in second grade. Third grade was highlighted by our rhythm band under the direction of Ar- lene Loudon. YVasn't the duplicator jelly good? Ever hear of a chewing gum race? Ask our fourth grade teacher, Viola Eber- hardt. This isn't the kind you are thinking of. joy of joys! A trip to Pittsburgh to see the zoo and planetariuml Ruth Miller even permitted us to ride the incline cars. WVe learned to wash windows because our chemistry experiments squirted. Fifth grade was fun. Maralyn Bell entertained us at a Halloween party. Who was the old lady? It couldn't have been Charlie? Pauline Schwab prepared us for junior High. Because there were so many of us Wayne Hostetler put us in the study hall with the eighth grade. Changing classes was confusing. Guidance class in the cafeteria became so much of a salt eating contest that the location of the class was changed in eighth grade. Raymond Cole had lots of patience with us. Finally we were in high school, with joe DeVincent as our home room teacher. Initiation, more fun! Our class officers were: President-Sue Davisg Vice Presi- dent-Bob Chmurag Secretary-Betty Digmang Treasurer-Peg Sitler. As Sophomores, E. Gordon WVarner greeted us with his witty jokes. Our big social event was Freshman initiation. We elected these officers: President-Bob Chmurag Vice President-joyfe Detwilerg Secretary-Betty Digmang Treasurer- Maralyn Bell. Our junior year found us very busy under Marjorie Anderson's helping hands. We received our class rings in December. Our junior play, Date Bait , was presented on November 18. On May 4 we entertained at the junior-Senior Prom, using the theme Candyland . The class officers were: President-Nancy Mell- ingerg Vice President-Bob Chmurag Secretary-joyce Detwilerg Treasurer-Mara- lyn Bell. At lastl Our Senior year with VValter DeSanti at the helm. The Black and White and the Annual gave us headaches. Our officers were: President-joyce Detwilerg Vice President-Philip Converseg Secretary-Nancy Mellingerg Treas- urer-Maralyn Bellg Student Council-Bob Guy. Along with the humorus, we learned much and we will always remember our teachers and classmates at school and our parents who made it possible for us to attend Fairfield. PAGE TWENTY-NINE
