af 1949 CLASS HISTORY Twelve years ago the present Semor Class wxth brlght expectant faces presented 1tS6If to the hrst grades of varlous schools to delxe mto the mysterles of Readln Wr1t1n and Rlthmetlc Of thlrty seven first graders who started here m 37 only elght haxe remained to the end The rest of the present Semor Class has Jomed these elther ln the grades or m h1gh school After golng through the usual trlals and tr1bul1t1ons of an elementary student quarrels pranks and pumshments appearmg ln PTA meetmgs all scrubbed and sh1n1ng ln new dresses and FIIJIJOYIS long pants and tles we finally entered Jumor Hlgh with MISS Greemsen and Mrs Glbson guxdxmf us through 7th and 8th grades respectlvely We are now ready for H1gh School We started our Hlgh School career wxth th1rty cagu lwtshmen full of enthuslasm and extreme ldeas whlch our new prmclpal Mr Utterb mek lmmedlately curbed and d1 rected 1nto the rlght channels As a result we sponsored several partles The hlgh llght of this year was our 1n1t1at1on the glrls had to wear boys clothes and the boys glrls clothes Mr Braid was our home room teacher for a whlle then Miss Farmer took over The OITICSTS for th1s year were as follows Pres NV1llard Detwller V1ce Pres Barbara Hess Sec Ruth Webber Treas Edward M1ller We entered our sophomore year w1th many new faces Thls was another year whlch we enjoyed to the fullest We had several partles th1s year At last lt was our chance to 1n1t1ate the freshles and boy d1d we take out our revenge on them' Our home room teacher was Mr I-Ierdle Our offlcers for thls year were Pres Edwm Thomas V1ce Pres Elsle Lutsch Sec Dorothy Carter Treas Rlchard Barth When we came to school as JUUIOTS we missed sexeral old faces We gave a suc Treasure Island The eats were superb and oh what lovely formals We also presented the play Aunt T1ll1e Goes to Town under the supervxslon of Mlss Green ISEH and Mlss Derlnger Our home room teacher was Mlss MacLear1e Our officers were as follows Pres Bexerlv Corll Vlce Pres Idwad M1ller Sec Elsle Lutsch Treas Mary Ann Casper In September as senlors we entered school wlth a new d1gn1ty beflttmg our classl flcatxon Agaln we presented a play called Heart Trouble under the supervlslon of Mlss Greemsen and Mlss Dermger Our blggest Joh thls year was to edlt the annual The Crest Our home room teacher for thls year w as Mlss Dermger The followmg led us through our last year Pres Richard Barth Vice Pres John Maturen Sec Elsxe Lutsch Treas Barbara Hess Falrfield w1ll suffer greatly the loss of three basketball players W1ll1am Crook Edward M1ller and John Maturcn and four grldll on men who were Joseph Moore Joseph Pneree W1ll1am Crook and Robert Nlchols They wlll also lose two very good cheerleaders attractlve Barbara Hess and charmlnf., I lsle Robmson The Music Depart ment w1ll suffer the most as the semor class has six ln band twenty one m glee clubs and flfteen ln Choral Club The cafeterla w1ll losc four of IIS blggest eaters We wlll always he grateful to our parents and lL'IChCI'S for mxkmg lt posslble or us to arrne at thus Junctxon of our educatlonal careers By Edward M1ller V - , I L Y, .
