LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of the College Senior Class E, the College Senior Class, having successfully completed two of the happiest years of our lives, do wish to make known to the world our last wishes as of this fourth day of June, 1955. We bequeath to Mr. and Mrs. Gates, Sr. our love and best wishes for continued happiness throughout the years. We will to Miss Lampton, Miss Strother, and the faculty many more like us, and our appre- ciation for all that has been done for us by such wonderful friends and advisors. I, Sallie McCraw, do hereby will and bequeath my love for the University of Alabama to Nancy “Buckly.”’ ; I, Susan Williams, do leave my logic-type compartments to Ruth Shuttles, and express the desire that she may find success in being able to think clearly upon one subject at a time; and to Carol Evans, I bequeath my “‘gift for gab’’ in soft tones in telephone conversations. I, Pat Limpichart, do hereby will and bequeath to Pat Connell my ability to sleep twenty-four hours each day, in hopes that she can continue to uphold this record: and my intelligent mathematical mind to Pauline Nichol. I, Timmie Wallace, with tearful eye and sad heart, do will and bequeath ‘‘ice-box 21” to Toria Thompson, in hopes that she may keep the home fires burning, and to all the underclassmen I leave the wonderful times I’ve had at Fairfax, that they may learn to love the ‘Hall’ as I did. I, Audrey Walker, do hereby will my innate ability for walking on tip-toe in the halls of Senior Dorm to Bobbie Schapero, and my knack for losing my temper to fun-loving Corky Gonzalez, Phyllis Liniado, and Sue Holmes—but I hope they never learn to use it. I, Jackie Brown, do hereby will to my hermana pequena, Karen Brusell, an ample supply of will- power to last her until she boards the plane bound for her beloved Brazil, and to Barbara Smith, Lee Dallas, and Nancy Nash I leave my good intentions for an art career. I hope they take it more seriously than I have done. I, Lloyd Rollins, do hereby will and bequeath my vivacity and energy to Sonya Burdick, and my ability to yell in the Dorm to Linn Powell. My excellent Spanish goes to Nora Morales. I, Ethel Garth, being a true Rebel, do leave for the Southland in order to aid in the completion of Reconstruction. I leave to Fairfax Hall that old Rebel yell, ‘““The South shall rise again!”’ I, Anne Gilman, being a Texan, leave my petite ways to Joan Haugabook. Returning forever to the Lone Star State, I find it necessary to bequeath to Miss Gandy my psychology workbook all filled in, and my black knee-length socks. I, Pat Minix, leave my Phi Theta Kappa key to Carolyn Cole who tried so hard. Given under our hand and seal on this fourth day of June, 1955. THE COLLEGE SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY OF THE COLLEGE SENIOR CLASS AND Now— Station W A Y B brings you the latest world-wide news! GAINESVILLE, ALABAMA—E:thel Garth made headlines this morning in a campaign speech disclosing the information that the South is rising rapidly. This Rebel Senator has been able to carry on for “The Cause’? because of her wealth of Confederate greenbacks, held over from Civil War days. We predict a brilliant future for this outstanding orator. AMHERST, VIRGINIA—From this city comes the report that a housewife, known to us as Susan Wil- liams, is the proud mother of triplets, a sum total of three bouncing baby boys. Mother and sons are doing fine. Da..as, TExXAs—A new play, predicted to be a smash hit, is having its premier performance tonight in this great city. The leading role will be played by the famous, beautiful, and talented Anne Gilman. It is rumored that she and a writer-producer will soon be hearing wedding bells and planning a honey- moon on a dude ranch in the Texas Panhandle. NorFOLK, VIRGINIA—Timmie Wallace, an outstanding political personage in the affairs of Virginia, has been appointed to fill a seat in the President’s Cabinet. Miss Wallace has been a prominent figure in the political world ever since she was graduated from Fairfax Hall. ELKTON, MARYLAND—Lloyd Rollins, a hostess for Pan-American World Airways, is planning a vacation tour of Spain and South America to promote friendly relations for the United States. Miss Rollins’ fluent Spanish will enable her to be a successful “‘ambassador.”’ Newton, MassAcHUSETTS—Jackie Brown has just had her latest masterpiece of portraiture placed in the Louvre. She expects to end her brilliant career before long to become the bride of a Naval Jet Ace, her childhood sweetheart. BALTIMORE, MARYLAND—Audrey Walker, stenographer for a prominent lawyer, has just published her book, ‘‘Shorthand Made Easy,”’ and is planning to retire on the royalties. This noted authoress has made great strides since her days as a student in Waynesboro. HoLLywoop, CALIFORNIA—F lash! Our own Sallie McCraw has just been signed by Metro-Goldwyn- Mayer to replace Esther Williams in films. Miss McCraw has already won laurels in swimming and we expect her to be a MGM hit soon. Best of luck, Sally! WAYNESBORO, VIRGINIA—Pat Muinix, star of the Metropolitan Opera Company, has just been ac- claimed by American audiences as the greatest and youngest star of the century. We're very proud that Miss Minix got her start right here at Fairfax Hall. BANGKOK, THAILAND—Pat Limpichart has been appointed secretary to the King of Thailand and will be sent to Washington soon to represent her country at the Embassy. We are all anxiously await- ing the arrival of “‘Princess Sukonta.”’ This brings to a close our broadcasting schedule for today. 30 The High School Class of 1955 SUSANZINIE EY steer aie ieee ee ed aan vee tren. S. cadets to Barbara Thrasher and Barbara Schoeppl; and to any underclassmen who might have the physical strength and mental ability to undertake the grueling task, I leave the Faxette Shop. A. to Barbara Degen and my intellectual mind to Lynda Barnes. I, Mary Goodwin, do hereby will and bequeath my well-worn path to Cornell to Rose Mary Wakefield, along with my deep affection for the town of Ithaca; to Olivia Carr I leave my sugar and carrots to be given to ‘Princess Pat.” I, Carol Griffin, do will my knowledge of English Literature to Jane Thornton. I, Vera Hunt, do will and bequeath my mathematical mind to Marcia Kirkpatrick in hopes that she may instruct others better than I did; to Nancy Hurley I leave my worn nickname; to all others at Fairfax I leave three happy years of my life. I, Allan Johnson, do bequeath to Jo Baker a one-way ticket to North Carolina and leave my seat in Miss Rose’s car to Mimi Finkelstein. I, Anne Kauffman, do hereby leave my love for Virginia Beach to Jo Baker; to Betsy Stephenson I leave my ability to gain weight and hope that she will some day need it; to Kathy Dick I leave my one and only contact at A. M. A. I, Rose Klevansky, leave my brain and intellectual capacity to Lynda Barnes; and to Sara Slovis, I leave a prayer for her to have a neat roommate next year, knowing that she will greatly appreciate one after three years of utter mess. I, Gini Leach, do hereby leave to Diane Maxa my booming voice and hope that she learns how to control it. To any one who takes office duty, much luck in receiving phone calls! I, Nancy Lowman, hereby will my seat in the student lounge to Barbara Degen and the S. M. A. cadets of next year. I, Sue McGee, hereby will and bequeath my mania for cutting hair and my ability for getting into jams to Ann Howard and hope that she will come out better than I have; and to anyone who needs it I will my luck with Carolina boys! I, Gail McLanahan, do hereby will to some underclassman my perpetual devotion to Hawaiian music. I, Betty Gay Moyer, bequeath to Betsy Stephenson, all my fabulous party weekends and hope that she will have as much fun as I have had. I, Jessie Mundo, will and bequeath my ludicrous love-life to Marcia Kirkpatrick and hope that she will enjoy it as much as I have. I, Emily Myers, leave my ‘‘choo-choo”’ to North Carolina to Mimi Finkelstein and hope that she will have a lot of trips that way. I, Bobby Nagle, do hereby will and bequeath a certain fraternity pin to the next Barbara inter- ested; and to Kay Mellott, I leave hopes for the real thing. I, Sue Riley, do will and bequeath to Toye White and Nancy McClellan my two red and white nightshirts and hope that they will be kept as warm as I was during the winter. I, Waller Roberts, do bequeath to Jo Baker my love for ‘‘Benny’s’’ and hope that some day she may get there; and to the underclassmen I leave my wonderful memories of Fairfax—all four years’ worth. I, Clara Suarez, do hereby leave to Robbie Sands my desire for her to pass Spanish next year: and my ability to get away with ‘‘monkey-business’’ I leave to those mischievous juniors. I, Mady Tibbs, bequeath my radical and argumentative class discussions to anyone who can get away with them; and to Shirley Carpenter I leave my bewitching, beguiling, dirty, green corduroy raincoat which she loves. I, Anne Tinsley, hereby will to Marcia Kirkpatrick my driver’s training booklet and hope she will learn the rules better than I did. I, Gloria Wayland, do will and bequeath to any underclassman who is dating a town boy next year my love for Waynesboro; and to Faye McFarland best wishes in getting her S. M. A. cadet! Given under our hand and seal this fourth day of June, 1955. THE HicH ScHooL SENIOR CLASS or to THE PROPHECY OF THE HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR CLASS THE YEAR—1965 THE PLAcE—Waynesboro, Virginia THE EvENt—Reunion, Class of 1955 Fairfax Hall is in a state of excitement as Jackie Douglas, the Social Dean, is enjoying the visit of her fellow-classmates. The first person to arrive this morning was Sue McGee, the former roommate of Jackie, and now a teacher in Carolina. Gini Leach, who just returned from a world-wide yacht trip, and Vera Hunt, a Latin professor at Pembroke, came in by plane. The next arrivals were Sue Riley, who is well on her way to completing her wish for a basketball team; Emily Myers, the wife of a world-famous nuclear scientist; and Jessie Mundo, who has made plans to psychoanalyze the entire class. At lunch Waller Roberts, the owner of a fleet of Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and Anne Kauffman, Cecil Chap- man’s assistant and chief model, were seen at the Dean’s table. Arriving just in time for dessert were Nancy Lowman, Hollywood’s bright new starlet, and Gail McLanahan, th e proud mamma of several little Georgia peaches. Lelia Brown, the prima ballerina of a New York ballet, and Becky Dunlap, the owner of last year’s Derby winner, breezed in by early afternoon. 53 Clara Suarez, the proprietor of the famous Spanish Club in New York, and Monica Elmore, the well-known concert pianist, are expected at any moment. With giggles and shouts, Mady Tibbs, the author of a new dictionary, and Sharon Boufford, still trying to decide between Doc and Bill, burst into the lobby. Barbara Carney, the first woman editor of the New York Times, appeared on her newly-acquired palomino, with Margo Gault, now a member of a professional hockey team, trailing along behind. Just before dinner Allan Johnson, still watching that Carolina moon with Joe, and Gloria Wayland, the head of the Waynesboro School of Dance, arrived with bouquets of flowers suitable for the occasion. Betty Gay Moyer, the new Congresswoman from Virginia, and Anne Tinsley, now happily married, drove in from Washington. Jeanie Burns, the happiest member of the Rockefeller family, and Bobby Nagle, the Dean of Smith, screeched to a stop in a red convertible in front of the Hall. Next came Rose Klevansky, who is now backing the sensational new comedian, Jed. Carol Griffin, who has just had many exciting adventures in Germany, and Ann Calvert, poet laureate of the United States, appeared just in time for dinner. Mary Goodwin, the happy Connecticut farmer, Phyllis Ann Buchanan, who is raising horses in North Carolina, and Jane Allio, Ambas- sador to France, were the last to arrive. The lobby buzzed with chatter all evening as the Class of 1955 renewed friendships and recalled the happy memories of their times at Fairfax Hall. 54 The College Class of 1956 BARBARAS MLE gee oe eee Cree en me ee gee President A GANT AUG A BOC Kane tetera deen he erat ee ees aera Vice-President WR OLESEI S ADP WAL ss SOME lee Cede eae nS eRe Vacate.
