In 1958 he aTTenoled chaplain school, and graduaTed from Seminary in 1959. AfTer graduaTion, Chaplain PiirTo wenT on acTive duTy aT The U.S. Naval HospiTal in Oakland, California. ln April, 1960 The Chaplain reporTed aboard The Eversole To assume his presenT duTies.
