The Horticulture Club was organized to provide students interested in plants with materials and facilities to raise and experiment with plants. During the past year, the stu- dents have maintained the greenhouse and terrariums in the science area and sponsored a plant sale. Honor E is an athletic service club that recognizes the outstanding male students who participate in athletics. It takes 200 points to become a member of this club. Upon becoming a member, Honor E athletes usher at athletic events, help explain the athletic program to incoming freshmen and support the school athletic teams. HORTICULTUREIHONOR E 23

Pom -pons have been very active this past year. ln the summer, they attended a camp at Rockford College where they won a first place in originality. Last fall, they at- tended a clinic at Oak Park-River Forest, where they re- ceived a first place for speed learning. Pom -pons perform at all home football and basketball games, pep assemblies and parades. Fun activities include holiday and pizza par: ties, as well as the annual summer barbeque. Money- raising activities include candy, jewelry and bake sales, as well as car washes. The highlight of this year was perfoming at a Chicago Bulls' game. As thundering runners come hurtling down the home stretch, they must suspend the ribbon across the track for the victor.
