The Varsity Squad of the cheerleaders took fifth place in the All -American Cheerleading Camp at Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, this sum- mer. Senior Toni Thanasouras took fifth place in the individual competition. All of the cheerleaders, including the newly- formed Varsity Wrestling Squad, partici- pate in many fund-raising projects. Pom -pons have been very active this past year. ln the summer, they attended a camp at Rockford College where they won a first place in originality. Last fall, they at- tended a clinic at Oak Park-River Forest, where they re- ceived a first place for speed learning. Pom -pons perform at all home football and basketball games, pep assemblies and parades. Fun activities include holiday and pizza par: ties, as well as the annual summer barbeque. Money- raising activities include candy, jewelry and bake sales, as well as car washes. The highlight of this year was perfoming at a Chicago Bulls' game.
