v Rose bouquets and traditional sashes await the an- nouncement of the Royal Court and the Prom King and Queen. Hudson's photo studio were posed pictures. The music that played kept people dancing. Slow songs seemed to have been the most popular, as they were requested a lot. The dance floor filled up immediately when the familiar mellow rhythm began. Just before the theme song, Forever Young by Alphaville played the royal court was announced. Junior Prin- cess, Coleen Grout: Junior prince Danny Flynn: Senior prin- cesses, Danette Proszek, and Stephanie Johnson: Queen, Chris Kano: Senior princes, Leo Porras, and Jeff Blakely: King, Jerry Abraham. As the festivities neared a close, the crowd thinned. Only a few couples remained to discuss the activities for the rest of the night. People talked of Prom in the days that followed. Some conver- sations included, l had the best time at the dance. l couldn't believe they had all that food. the music was real good. D Gerry Budbill portrays Ronny Runt as he scores a second place finish for stage performance. v Butch Beseker gets into his Bon Jovi lip sync with Scott Berfield and Mike LaVieIle, who won first place in the stage category. an . .. .f - , it ff! ZW Ay sf?-f wg Sock hoppin', rock rokkin', and beat boppin' were just some of the sounds heard at the T987 F.B.L.A. Lip sync. Various artists prepared to do battle of the lips, and in- deed did do. Host Gerry Budbill and hostess Jaimee Allred introduced each act as the night progressed. Some of the acts included the Uptown Crew, Beastie Boys and Beastie Girls, New Edition, Bon Jovi, Club Nouveau, ZZ Top, Bob Seger, Ronny Runt, and just a few other performing Iippers. Judges for the event in- cluded Terry Vermillion an Evergreen teacher, Mrs. 5 X 6 Q ,- 66A Lip Sync Budbill, Teri Svedahl a former student, and Terri Reichlin. Each act was graded on a one to ten basis, ten being the highest score. The judges had two catagories to score each act in, stage and video. Coming in first in the video catagory were the Beastie Girls with Sherri Crouse, Lyda Diaz, and Danette Proszek. Second place went to Ho Jin Lee, Ben lbale, Larry May, Forrest Hillyard, and Nick Zar doing Club Nouveau's Lean On Me. Third place in video went to the Uptown Crew with Jason Sawyers, John Paul Vinning, Ramaun Hayes, Sam Swanson, Bobby Garza, and Jalanda Simp- son. ln the other catagory, stage, first place was Bon Jovi done by Butch Besecker, Scott Berfield. Doug Johnston, Dan Milton, and Mike La'Vielle, perfor- ming Living On A Prayer. Second in stage went to Gerry Budbill doing Ronny Runt. Finally in third place for stage was Club Nouveau featuring Eddie Munoz and Sherri Crouse doing Situation 9949.
