MC Wins the Gam The 29th annual produc- tion of YAIVIO, Relax, lt's Only a Game! ran for eight sold out performances. Yamo '86 was, like all Yamo's, a combiation of old traditions and new ideas. One new concept was to in- clude the whole cast in the first act, which was a single skit, titled Camp Yamo. Acting Company members, Fable Company members, dancers, and Chorus mem- bers all performed as cam- pers. Crew even got on stage to play some of the visiting parents. Chorus and dance numbers were incorporated smoothly into the skit, mak- ing Yamo a much more uni- fied show. The second act was the customary compulation of short skits. The first one was the traditional ulxlewsroom Roulette, perfomied by the Acting Company. This year it was expanded with the addi- tion of l'Pre-Newsroom Rou- lette. This featured the Fa- ble Company preparing the have separate numbers. This new combination worked well. The Fable Company showed a lot of ingenuity when they rewrote their sec- ond act fable after it did not work during the first week of performances. The new fa- ble worked well andthe audi- ence never knew it had been changed. The Student Governing Board, the Assistant Govem- ing Board, and Bruce Siew- erth, Co-ordinating Director, created and directed an orig- inal show this year. Approxi- mately ZOO students partici- pated in the show. This in- cluded all those who per- formed, directed, and built the set. Jennie Rowal, a crew member, said that even though there were so many people in the show, ev- erybody worked really well together. Another crew member, Jeanne Trouti, agreed, The spirit of Yamo kept all of the companies 'Q news desk for Hair time. The Yamo Orchestra, Chorus, and Dance Compa- ny together performed the number Black Tie. This was unusual, because ordi- narily chorus and dance working hard. lt all came to- gether beautifullyf' The ded- ication of all participants re- ally paid off.
