A leacher who has been slimulaling and helpful bolh lo her Official Class and lo her English sludenls is Miss Moress, prelecl ol 25l-8. She allended Fordham, N. Y. U. and Cornell Universilies. Her main ambilion was always lo be a doclor, bul because she loved children, she decided lo enler upon a leach- ing career. Those who have been lorlunale enough lo be in her English classes know how excellenl her leaching is wilh ils syslem- alic organizalion of lhe work, enlivened by her dry humor and vivid melaphors. Mrs. Holf, offcial feacher of Class 308-8, is a graduafe of Hunfer College. Alfhough she has faughf a number of English classes, her lirsf love is French, which she really wanfs fo feach. She fakes keen enioymenf in fhe fheafer and fhe opera as well as in reading. She is very pafienf and undersfanding, re- minding us in fhaf respecf of our former official feacher, Miss Sergenf, who refired lasf year. Miss Sergenf came fo Evander in l9l6 and for over fhirfy years devofed herself fo her feaching, spending long hours affer school preparing and correcfing work and helping sfudenfs who had gof behind in lessons or behavior. Her secref ambifion has always been fo excel in aesfhefic dancing or fo ioin a professional group of folk dancers. She is now working for a higher degree in Business Educafion, buf she dances when she can spare fhe fime. Many Evander girls know Mrs. Lippman fhrough her arf weaving classes as well as fhrough Official Class 323-8. She is a New York Cify woman educafed in our schools. Her elder daughfer, a Wellesley graduafe, sfudied law on a scholar- ship af Columbia, while her younger daughfer sfudied journalism af fhe Universify of Missouri. Her opinion of Evanderifes is very encouraging, for she feels fhaf fhey will be good and useful cifizens, and fhaf fhey are a very wholesome group.
