LA CLASS HISTORY Another commencement day is almost here, and doubtless the readers of the Sequoia will be interested in the history of our class. ' As freshmen We spent a very inactive year, but as years pro- gressed so did We. During our first year, the only important things We did Were to enter a float in the Bond Election Parade and to win first prize in the Freshman-Sophomre Oratorical 'Contest through the efforts of Julius Paul. This dormant condition showed signs of vanishing when We began our Sophomore year. Under the leadership of Fred George- son as President, Charles Quigg as Vice-President, Helen Thomas as Secretary, Walter Dolphini and Dolph Timmerman as Council Members, we gave a Thanksgiving dance and candy sale which were very succesful. As Juniors We played an important part in school activities. In order to earn more money for the J unior-Senior Banquet, at our class night, We entertained our audience with a clever skit called Vinegar's Vaudeville Agency . The banquet, which is the ultimate goal of Junior activities, was considered a huge success. During this year the class was led by President, Walter Dolphinig Secretary,Katherine Nell- ist, Treasurer, Kenneth May, and Council member, Melvin Shus- ter. The oflicers elected for the Senior year were Raimond Clary, President, Katherine N ellist, Secretary, De Ette Wing, Treasurer and Charles Quigg, Council member. We chose as our class colors, Orchid and Nile, and the Orchid as our flovver. Our class motto is, Doubt Whom you Will, but never doubt yourself . Commencement Week will be a round of pleasure and excite- ment With the Junior-Senior Banquet, Senior Class Night, the Senior Ball and graduation exercises. As we survey our accomplishment during the four years we find that in Student Body offices We have been very well represen- ted. Those who have held offices are Raimond Clary, sergeant-at- arms, and Richard Derby, assistant business manager of the Sequoia during our Junior year. This year Allan McCurdy was 24
