Foreword
The pathways through high school are memorable ones. We hope that through this book, we have portrayed a span of these pathways to the future upon which each of us travels.
Education is in itself a wide and heavily traveled pathway. There are many forks in this pathway--each leading to some goal set by those who are traveling upon it.
Just as some roads are unpaved, so are some pathways to success unpaved. There are many rough and threatening sections. However, if the goal is kept in view, all difficulties can be surmounted, and the pathway will have served its purpose of furnishing a means of guidance.
We are proud of our faculty who are the guideposts along our pathway through high school. Without them our trek would be futile.
With all these things in mind, we present to you the 1964 CARDINAL.

Mr. L. B. Harden inspired Eunice students for 17 years as their director and teacher, and even though he may now be leading angel choirs, much of him remains here with us. Through him we learned to regard music as one of life’s greatest pleasures. As we watched him through the years, we observed some of the most important things about life. We observed the joy of a happy person. We were inspired by the beautiful teamwork of Mr. and Mrs. Harden. Never did we see him judge a person too quickly, but rather we always watched him give at least a second chance. We understood his wisdom in helping us make our own decisions and in helping us find our best traits so that we might live highly. Each year Mr. Harden’s gift to us was in the form of many, many extra hours helping to develop student’s talents. These beautiful portions of Mr. Harden’s life will remain with us always.n

Dear Seniors:
As you look through this yearbook, again and again, may it ever remind you of the work and the success of this year, the most important of your life thus far. You each desire that your flight of life be made a pleasant journey: therefore, keep wearing your congenial smile and take hold of life with faith, hope, ahd dreams. These three will help you guide your uncertainties of today into a glorious tomorrow.

"SMILE"
"Smile though your heart is aching,
Smile even though it's breaking.
When there are clouds in the sky
You'll get by. If you'll Smile
Through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through for you.
"Light up your face with gladness.
Hide every trace of sadness.
Although a tear may be ever so near That's the time you must keep trying Smile, what's the use of crying You'll find that life is still worthwhile If you’ll just Smile."

Message
Congratulations, annual staff, on your fine job of recording and depicting the many activities of our Eunice School this year of 1963-1964. We can compare the year to a drama production, well coached and well played by the director, assistant directors, faculty, stage hands, and a large and varied cast of students. We have all worked and rehearsed together to make each act and scene a production of which we may all be proud.
