KENT YOCKEY Senior Class President When the class of 1957 graduates, each member will recall many memo- ries of his three years here at Eugene High. As sophomores, our most out- standing contribution to the school was the presentation of our class assembly, Bon Voyage. Although it was typi- cally sophomore, it was a good pre- view of the dramatic and musical talent that has since developed. Our junior year became much busier than the previous one. The junior boys' red hat section sparked school spirit during football and their enthusiasm was carried over into the basketball season. The first annual Teens Against Polio drive went down in history as one of Eugene High's most outstanding campaigns, and the princess of our class became Queen of Hearts. At last We achieved our long-awaited goalg we were seniors! Our football season was one of the most successful in many years. This year, instead of having football stars, we had a team . . . a group of boys who Worked to- gether with teamwork, not glory, as their goal. lust before Christmas, the senior class presented its dance, Fan- tasy in Frost, for the entire student body. This year's senior class also led the school in a new plan for promoting school spirit. The Pep Club enlarged itself to include all senior girls who wanted to belongg at the same time, the peppy and enthusiastic senior boys promoted the white shirt section for the boys of the school. Early in Ianu- ary, the Teens Against Polio drive was held with the class ot l957 Winning the drive by collecting more than the jun- ior and sophomore classes put together. The Queen of Hearts was again from our mighty class. Our last year is over. We have spent three years at Eugene High which will be remembered forever. This is our motto, what We believe.. . . The higher we rise, the broader our vieW. Our flower, the lilac, and our colors, laven- der and purple, reveal our patriotic feelings. As we leave behind our high school years and go to meet our future, we will carry with us memories of you, Eugene High School.
