Associated tudent Forming the nucleus of student body gov- ernment is the Student Council. It consists of officers and representatives of the school's key organizations. Members of the council are the student body president, vice-president, and secretary, theipresident and one representative from each class, and the Girls' League president. The Merry Mix-Up, first social event cf the year, was sponsored by the Student Council, as was the noon dancing program, later turned over to the Hi-Y. By drawing up a calendar for the year's activities, the council materially lessened schedule con- flicts. A committee of council members did extensive work on rewriting the consti- tution of University High, a long neglected task. This year the Student Council leaves a small fund which in time ,Will buy the school a new piano. They were able to do this through the cooperation with the University School of Music.
