However, their real worth is shown by many not- able accomplishments, including the elec- tion of six to the Honor Society. Officers for the sophomore year were: President, Keith Clark: vice-president, Phoebe Smithy secretary, Polly Gordon: and representatives, Betty Russell and Dick Stafford. A sophomore party, a cowboy dance with saddles, hay, horses, and other ap- purtenances ior a Dude Ranch , and a class picnic at Swimmers' Delight on a cold but sunshiny day, highlighted the ac- tivities of their first year. 1939-40 was finished off with a jolly time for everyone at the Iunior-Senior Prom and a junior picnic again at Swimmers De- light.
