lfblf' UL erinfenjenli domino! of Board of Education As we today survey American edu- cation, we smile at the argument that a grammar school education is enough tor American youth. To say that be- yond this education is a luxury is to deny the common experience ot our young people in the recent war. While the major purpose ot second- ary education today is to give our youth a background of culture and understanding that will make tor good citizenship and happy living, we realize it is ot vital importance to our country as well as to our individual selves that we lay the foundations tor a technical or scientific lite. We are no longer a simple, agricultural community. Our lite has become singularly complex. Our schools must face this challenge in preparing young people for the years ahead. FIRST ROW: Anton E. Strohmg Russel l-l. Erwine, Superintendent, Loyal E. Luikart. SECOND ROW: Loren J, Bullard, John F. Davis, President, C. E. Bowman, Vice Presidentj Frank Mills, Business Manager.
