During a lifetime one experiences physical and psychological motion. Each day one faces People in Motion whether he is aware of it or not. One is always in motion, either physical or psychological. This mo- tion can be the daily routine of school, or the constant changes in one's mind about his future goals, or the myriad changes of ideas from one class to another, one moment to the next. Our whole life is a series of motions from the crawling infant to the learning adult of today, moving toward tomorrow's leaders of a community and world, of a state and universe. Yet, our physical motions are very important to our futures, too, for ex- ample, the athlete's motions of the body must be co-ordinated to do the specific skills ofa sport. Thus he com- bines the physical with the mental motions to be always in top condition. The business student must exercise not only his fingers for the correspon- ding functions of the buttons or keys, but he must exercise the mind to know how to handle the many func- tions and problems of the moving business world. Still another, the academic student, from which comes the doctors, lawyers, ministers, and educators, moves methodically through research, formulas, and ideas. The psychological motion of keeping facts straight and being able to act rationally in emergencies can save, not only one's life, but also a nation's worth, and perhaps avoid past mis- takes. Every day we are on motion in motion to form our futures. Even though each day offers a new begin- ning, those yesterdays add up to help form tomorrow's fates and successes. To move is to advance, and Euc1id's seniors are on the march. Introduction!15
