ENGLISH Stumbling through a maze of clauses, phrases and colons, the English stu- dent demonstrates his knowledge of grammar through application in cre- ative writing. Meter and rhyme in poetry confront him along with style and meaning. Novels explore philos- ophies which generate thinking from new viewpoints and make use of pow- ers of analyses. Journalism and speech provide a broader scope for student participation outside the standard classroom.
