Presenting the Drama Club The Drama class put on its annual fall play, The Death and Life of Sneaky Fitch. It was a western melodrama in which Rich Mason played the lead role of Sneaky, and his girlfriend Maroon was portrayed by Erin Moore. Jim Nelson played Racham, Kent Newton played Sheriff Oglesby, Rosy was Lynette Chaney, Doc Burch was Rick O'Dell, and Rev. Blackwood was Brent Myers. Other minor roles were taken by members of the drama class. The melodrama gave the new year a very fine start. Another production under the direction of Ms. Rhella Spier-ing in a more dramatic nature was The Miracle Worker. This emotion-packed story of Helen Keller and her teacher Anne Sullivan was quite a challenge for a high school production. The lead of Miss Sullivan was played by Michelle Heroux, the demanding part of Helen was double-casted and played by Lynne Yancey and Erin Moore. Jeff Schanhals and Melissa Chaffin played Mr. and Mrs. Keller, Bill Kearney acted as their son James, and Chris Mason and Rainer Her-trich played Percy and Marty. The dramatic scene at the dinner table includes the family of Helen and her new teacher. Sheri McCormack and Joyce Holmes anxiously watch Rich Mason in a tense card game during Sneaky Fitch. Homecoming 1974 The recharged spirit this year boosted Homecoming activities considerably. The old tradition of the snakedance and bonfire, which had been absent for four years, helped to rekindle the flame, and another nice spark was the addition of the parking lot dance. The highlight came with the big game against Windsor (even though we lost). The festivities ended as royalty Lynette Chaney, Cindi Cowles, Dave Hart, Steve Holstein and king—Dave Williams, and queen—Lisa Steffens, reigned over the dance. ABOVE, crown bearer Amy McCarthy watches as Dave and Lisa preside over the dance. (RIGHT) the tradition of the mock funeral remains an important part of spirit week.
