Under the supervision of Ms. Rhella Spiering, a number of interested students got to try their hand as disc jockeys, and one student in particular showed a lot of talent and enough persistence to stay with it the entire year; this bass voice is better known as Brad Wear. Others who joined him throughout the year included Rich Mason, Alice Bair, Sarah McCarthy, Sabina Lieske, and Sawne Gundel. KSIR also provided much experience and material to help the class, along with the many people who donated their time for interviews and commentaries.

Emile DeBecque (Ron Spradling) enchants Nurse Nellie For-bush ()ulie Seavy) on his terrace. South Pacific The select choir, under the direction of Mrs. Claudia Irwin, provided a very enchanting evening for an audience captivated by such musical numbers as There is Nothing Like a Dame, I'm Gonna Wash that Man Right out of My Hair, and This Nearly Was Mine, which were highlighted by a few falling chairs and helmets. The show featured some great dance numbers arranged by Miss Cindy Noxon which proved to be as enjoyable for the cast as for the audience. Major roles were held by Julie Seavy as Nellie Forbush, Ron Spradling as Emile DeBecque, Lisa Livesay as Bloody Mary, Jerry Graham as Luther Billis, Jay Carpenter as Lt. Cable, and Shelley Knutson as Liat. The musical accompaniment was provided by Steve Walters, Jo Reed, Kurt Berg-quist, and Peter Schmidt. Presenting the Drama Club The Drama class put on its annual fall play, The Death and Life of Sneaky Fitch. It was a western melodrama in which Rich Mason played the lead role of Sneaky, and his girlfriend Maroon was portrayed by Erin Moore. Jim Nelson played Racham, Kent Newton played Sheriff Oglesby, Rosy was Lynette Chaney, Doc Burch was Rick O'Dell, and Rev. Blackwood was Brent Myers. Other minor roles were taken by members of the drama class. The melodrama gave the new year a very fine start. Another production under the direction of Ms. Rhella Spier-ing in a more dramatic nature was The Miracle Worker. This emotion-packed story of Helen Keller and her teacher Anne Sullivan was quite a challenge for a high school production. The lead of Miss Sullivan was played by Michelle Heroux, the demanding part of Helen was double-casted and played by Lynne Yancey and Erin Moore. Jeff Schanhals and Melissa Chaffin played Mr. and Mrs. Keller, Bill Kearney acted as their son James, and Chris Mason and Rainer Her-trich played Percy and Marty. The dramatic scene at the dinner table includes the family of Helen and her new teacher. Sheri McCormack and Joyce Holmes anxiously watch Rich Mason in a tense card game during Sneaky Fitch. Maroon, portrayed by Erin Moore, during an amusing part of Sneaky Fitch. 11
