SPEECH LEAGUE: JoAnne McGary, Mrs. Thomas. Jackie Rockwell (Standing) Barry Myers, Dick Smith Not shown Mike Sweet This group belongs to the Colorado Speakers Congress and Debating League. The group, consisting of five students and their sponsor, attended the meeting of the Colorado Speech Congress in Boulder. Each student has been required to memorize several long readings and orations. Jackie Rockwell has given a number of humorous readings in school assemblies and before civic organizations. JoAnne McGary has done considerable work on readings and orations. Mike Sweet has created and delivered a number of after dinner talks. Barry Myers has worked on orations and extempore speaking, and represented E. P H. S. in the American Legion Oratorical contest at the district meet at Greeley. Dick Smith has worked on standard orations and has done research on the state debate question. We feel, that in this first year of speech work in Estes Park High School, we have begun a program of which the school may be proud.
