passengers also When we are 500 brllton mlles from the earth we posedly umnhablted planet We see several Kllroy srgns nalled on trees Someone comes toward us and to our surprrse rt rs not Krlroy but LeRoy' Yes LEROY SPANGRUD' LeRoy helps us flx the space shlp and we are soon on our way agam After awhrle we see a space shrp domg all sorts of dangerous stunts and Glenn explams that rt IS WAYNE CARPENTER testmg new rocket shxps for Krggms and Kerth Inc owned by IAMES KIGGINS and GEORGE KEITH flf the shrps hold together wrth Wayne flyrng them they wlll stand up under any condrtlons I When we arrlve at the Moon we fmd BOB RUSSELL drctator of the Moon there to meet us Glenn tells us that the shrp must be refueled wrth some atomxc energy He calls a large muscular man over and tells hrm to hll rt up The man much to our amazement rs DON REED We decrde to have a brte to eat whrle waxtrng On our way to BARBARA WATKINS Moontel Cafe we see a crowd on the srdewalk A barber shop quartet IS sxngmg Oh Planetary Skres and we see that the smgers are DEAN and DAVID QUALLS ORAN Mc CARTNEY and BEVERLY MORRILL Beverly the one txme metropolitan opera soprano whose volce changed due to coke addrctron rs srngmg bass ln the quartet When the Song IS flnlshed we go rnto the cafe where we srt down by a very fat man We fmd hxm to be AL BERT WALLAERT Albert tells us that soon there would be no need for space shrps because he and hrs partner DUANE CYRUS are just frnrshrng the plans for an ex pansxon brxdge from the Earth to the Moon Albert seems well caught up wrth the tlmes for he mforms us that CHARLES LAMB rs the owner of a thnvmg cheese factory on the Moon lAll the mrce have formed a unron and refuse to eat anythmg but Lamburger Cheese so all the other cheese factones both on the Earth and the planets are gomg broke l BONNIE TURNER chief chemrst at the factory IS testmg for the vrtamrn content and food value and LEONE LA GROW IS the chref taster Harbert and Hrlle Food Capsule Inc owned by MOLLY DEAN HARBERT and ROSEMARY HILLE are however threatemng to put the factory out of busmess wrth therr food capsules We have flmshed eatmg so we take our leave of Albert and go back to the rocket held We are well on our way to Mars when we drscover a stowaway IESSE SNIVELY Since stowrng away IS a planetary offense we decxde that we will have to turn hrm over to the polrce when we reach Mars Iesse Sdld that he has always wanted to travel and he IS do mg lt now by means fair or foul Iesse tells us that on one of hrs trrps on the Earth he went to VISIT Estacada now a growing metropolrs of 500 000 He tells us that ROBERT BARTHOLOMEW IS the mayor and LOWELL PAULI the Chl9I dog catcher of Estacada LOLITA IBOYERI CARTER rs the presrdent of the Estacadas Earth and Planet Book Club IOYCE ANDERS a fa mous movre star rs makmg her latest prcture Under Movre Producers owned by RENEE IANSSENS At the much enlarged hlgh school IOHN POPPINO rs the prrncrpal HELEN RICKEY rs the P E mstructor and MABEL MCKENZIE IS the math teacher As Iesse fmrshes tellmg about some of our class mates we reach Mars and are flyrng low to see the scenery when we see a baseball game bemg played by the Moons Moldy Cheeses and the Mars Mrghty Mrcrobes We are rrght over the fleld when CARL Al-INERT star player of the Moons Moldy Cheeses h1t what would have been a home run rf lt had not been caught by EARL CARTER star of the opposmg team Thls hnrshes the game wtth a hed score so we contlnue on to the spaceport and land We call the polrce mtendxng to turn Iesse over to them but when rt turns out to be a pollcewoman GRACE POYSER rt rs too much for one day and we decxde not to press charges Grace saxd she couldnt arrest a classmate anyway so Iesse rs set free to con trnue hrs travels We have fmally reached our destrnatron and as we hall a rocket taxr to take us to Marstel we thmk of the pleasant dreams we wrll have of all our classmates that we have erther seen or heard of durmg our most SOPHOMORE CLASS OFFICERS K President BOB REED Vice President BILL FOX Secretary STARLEY BUHLINGER Sergeant at Arms MONTIE NICHOLSON Representative ALLAN SMITH CLASS HISTDRY Sixty two students entered E U H S in the tall ol 47 They elected as officers Bob Reed Pres: dent Richard Chaflrn Vice President Montie Nicholson Secretary Duane Meeker Sergeant at Arms and Starley Buhlmger Class Representative Iudy Lauderbaclc and Richard Chalhn were elected as representatives to the lumor Red Cross Council Their main activity ot the year was the Leap Year Dance on February 27 which was enloyed by everyone The Frosh advisor was Miss Simmons The beginning ol this year tound titty-six students enrolled as Sophomores. Their main activity for the year was a Christmas Dance, which was well attended alter the Columbia Prep basket- ball game. Bill Fox was the Sophomores' nominee tor the King ot Hearts at the Valentine Dance and Bob Reed was elected as Sophomore representative to the lunior Red Cross Council. Miss Daw is the Sophomore class advisor.
