QR T ock Trial makes lop len. The Mock Trial Team consisTed of sTudenTs who Took parT in compeTiTion wiTh oTher schools in a simulaTed Trial siTuaTion. Each school was evaluafed on Their abiliTy To Try an acTual courT case. The Azfecs chose Three Team members as aTTorneys for The prosecuTion, Three aTTorneys for The defense, and Two seTs of wifnesses. However, schools wiTh fewer sTudenTs were allowed To parTicipaTe in dual roles. The prosecufion Team would face The defense Team from an- 46 - mock Trial oTher school. The Trial Took place in The SanTa Ana Superior Courf in fronT of an acTual criminal judge. The case was Treafed like a real case. The judge and The depuTy disTricT aTTorney scored boTh Teams in 'l3 differenT caTe- gories. The Team ThaT won re- ceived 'lO bonus poinTs. Three Tri- als were held and The poinTs To- Taled. The Top 8 Teams advanced To The finals. Esper- anza placed 9Th ouT of 38 schools. The Trial was Timed.
