Dick Leivers was elected to govern us for the '48-'49 year. l-le and Mr. McLoney, the advisor, spent the year ' puzzling over the responsibili- ties and problems which con- fronted the cabinet and the student body. Instead of entering into the actual making of the school laws Mr. Mcl.oney guided and advised the A.S.B. offi- cers. Yes, a lot of things have happened to make their year seem different from all of our other years. Our ASB officers sponsored many activities for all of us. There was a mobile unit shown to us in a special assembly honoring the Gold Rush days in early California. Throughout the year we had charity campaigns to raise money for the March of Dimes, Red Cross, and the Community Chest. Our new school song was sung during an assembly for the first time this year, too. Are we proud of it? Just ask us! Throughout the entire year visiting dignitaries were entertained, and every now and then o-ur campus was enlivened by some very special dances sponsored by various organizations. This has been a year full of entertainment, interest, and appeal for all of us.
