Eski Parades Homecoming Spirit The cat showed its claws during Homecoming Week, October 18-22. Monday led the spirit parade with red day, followed by Tuesday's clash, with Wednesday as stomp-'em-day, which led to the funeral and mourning day for the Hughson Huskies on Thursday. Highlights of Friday were an early breakfast in Oakdale for the varsity team and rally squad. Students dressed in purple and gold and participated in the mini-rally at noon. The day's activities concluded with a parade down Main Street. Other noon activities included a licorice eating contest, a series of relay races, a tug-of-war and a toilet paper wrap. The over-all winner of the activities was the Senior class. Miss Escalon (1) Judy Altamirano and Princess Maria Silveira greet crowds. Freshman (2), Sophomore (3), and Senior (4) floats show the Cougars how to defeat the Huskies. 28 HOMECOMING FRESHMEN

Cubs Enjoy Great Season The Escalon Freshman Cubs finished the season with an outstanding 6-1 record. The cubs showed an abundance of talent. Mr. Arellano described his team as being small, firey and aggressive, and they're all really willing to learn and to play. Averaging about 3 touchdowns a game, they showed a promising future for the varsity team of 78. Dan Keyser (4) throws a pass to a receiving Cougar.
