Dr McNeill Dr Low Speaking of Tradition Pitching pennies at Desi's book is a tradition that any Erasmus student will recognize immediately. There are so many traditions connected with Erasmus-some already buried in the dim past. It is a tradition that Erasmus students are proud of their tradition. They are happy to learn that student government and the Arista were born at Erasmus. They thrill to hear of the great Manual-Erasmus classic which used to draw 25,000 to Ebbets Field on Thanksgiving Day. They are proud to hear of the Hne people who were con- nected with the school in past times-Dr. Cunnison, Dr. Low, Mr. Boughton, Mr. Richard Young, Miss Rodkey, and others. There is the great spirit of all Erasmus Hall teams, that still lives in the trophies they left. There is also the record of the music clubs, the theatrical productions ol' times past. There are the memories, of two very ac- tive dramatic groups, the Play Class under Mrs. Foster, and the Footlighters under Miss Thrall. Mrs. Foster told us recently of some of those who went from Erasmus to a career of stardom on the stage or in motion pictures, how many ol? these names do you recognize? There were Jane Cowl, the Tahnadge sisters, Aline MacMahon, Shirley Booth, Barbara Stanwyck, Susan Hayward, and Jeff Chandler, to mention a few. Erasmus has been a part of our life, a part that has meant much to us. We feel that we are a part of a great living tradition. Will Erasmians of the future be handing down our names and deeds with pride? Will we depart- ing, leave behind us footprints on the sands of timen? Miss l-iolran is third from right Teacher team.
