The freshman class, c omp o s e d of only sixty-eight members, is the smallest
group to have entered Ennis High School in many years. These students are looking
f o rw a r d to their s o p ho m o r e year when they will be striving to overcome their
minority in numbers.
The class was under the leade r ship of sponsors Mrs. J. C. Oglesby and Mr .
Forrest Hendricks and class officers Ja-mes Thomason, presidentg Bobbie Dale Ware,
vice-presidentg Gloria Morales, secretaryg Darleen Hutchinson, treasurergand Dann
Rogers, reporter. Mike Kelly and Gloria Morales m et regularly with the student.
council as freshman representatives.
Mike Kelly and John Waedekin represented their class on the football team, and
they also were seen on the Cinder path in the spring track activities.
Cheering the Lions to victory w a s freshman cheer leader, Ruth Tucker. In the,
band were several ninth grade students--Dale Stovall, Hubert Vick, Billy Jo Lowey,
and Jesse Woods.
Manifesting a loyalty to worthwhile activities, this class was the first in the high
sc hool to receive a 100727 rating in the Junior Red Cross roll Call. Outstanding
occasions which these students will never forget were their Christmas party and
spring picnic.
