TYRONE WALLACE Prmiumt nf tty? OUaHH nf 19H9 . . thus teaching them that if they held together, they would continue strong.” — Plutarch — As President of the Senior Class of 1969, I welcome the opportunity that this occasion presents to speak to you, my fellow classmates. You and I are about to embark on a new adventure, that of utilizing what we have accomplished here. Four years of study, activity, and associa- tion have made us, I feel, a unique class. Together, we have shared the experience, tradition, and “spirit” that is English High. Together, we have enjoyed the academic, social, and athletic events which will, forever remain, a part of our tenure here. Together, we have been exposed to the dedication and enlightenment of a “concerned” faculty. Together we have shared the frustrations, experience, and accomplish- ments of student “involvement”. Together, we have worked, for a better English High, for those who will follow us. I have emphasized the word “togetherness”, for this has always been our tradition. And out of the frustrations involvements, activities, and events, there has evolved, a “cohesiveness” which, has joined us for all time, as a class. Now we reach commencement, not an end, but merely a beginning: A time when we, as English High School men, must prove, we are ready to face the challenge: the challenge of further study, the challenge of a new found employment, or the challenge of service to our country, at a time when she needs it most. I thank you for the privilege of serving you as your class President, and for the support you have given to me during my administration. As for myself, there is no better way to express this appreciation, than to urge you to join with me, in perpetuating the English High School tradition of “honor and achievement” in all our future endeavors. Tyrone T. Wallace, ’69
