Zhe Stanley Qay Myde Jitch Scholar skip Stanley Gay Hyde Fitch The Stanley Gay Hyde Fitch Scholarship has been established as a result of a recent gift of more than $5,000. to the English High School Association b Stanley Gay Hyde Fitch, a distinguished member of the Class of 1895. It is to be awarded annually at graduation to a member of the graduating class who has distinguished himself as a good school citizen, a superior student, and one who in the judgment of the Head Master is deserving of financial assistance in his desire to further his education in a higher institution of learning. Stanley Gay Hyde Fitch was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in 1876, attended the English High School, and was graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1900 with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. In 1910 he became associated with the firm of Patterson, Teele, and Dennis; and until his retirement was a certified public accountant. Until recently he served as Chairman of the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Certified Public Accountants. He has been a member of the Council of the Alumni Association of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an instructor in auditing at Boston University. On behalf of the Head Master, the faculty, and the student body, the English High School Record wishes to thank Mr. Fitch for his great generosity, and for his continuing loyalty to the English High School.
