GEORGE HENNESSEY In June of 1960, Mr. George Hennessey retired as Head of the Modern Language Department of the English High School. During his devoted fourteen years to English High, Mr. Hennessey found friends in faculty and student body alike. He first taught at Ro, bury Memorial and in 1946 was appointed Head of the Department of Modern Lan- guages. Mr. Hennessey was in charge of summer school applications and therefore was well known to many of the students. He will always be remembered as an energetic and devoted teacher. JAMES L. HIGGINS Mr. James L. Higgins has taught in many different schools in Massa- chusetts. He graduated from Salem Teachers’ College in 1926, earning his B. S. Ed. and in 1932 his M. Ed. at Boston University. He was first appointed to the Boston School Sys- tem as a Junior Master at the High School of Commerce. In September, 1954, Mr. Higgins was appointed to English High School as a Master. He was always known to exert himself to the fullest for the sake of the student body. ITn fl cmor am CHARLES W. GLEASON It is with deep sorrow that we noted the passing of Charles W. Gleason this past summer. Mr. Gleason was a teacher respected by all his students, and his passing was a great loss to our school. In his years of teaching we all came to know him as a man among men whose sole concern was the welfare of those entrusted to him.
