First formed to reduce friction between the faculty and the student body, the Student Faculty Adjustment Board has now earned a per- manent place on the campus. To this board students and faculty alike may bring complaints or suggestions. The board then considers the prob- lem from the light of the student, the faculty, and the administration, and makes recommendations accordingly. After the board makes a recommendation, its only other function is to see that the recommenda- tion reaches the proper destination. Examining problems ranging from a reqfuest for more pencil shar- peners to the alleged abuse of veterans' funds, the Student Faculty group has never failed to reach a common ground among themselves, and every recommendation has been made by unanimous vote. This year a liaison group has been formed to aid cooperation between the SFAB and the Student Council. From time to time the two groups meet together to iron out campus problems and to plan coordinated programs of in- vestigation. The Student Faculty Adjustment Board is governed in its meetings by a group of fifteen by-laws, which limit the board's powers and pro- vide for methods of replacement of members. Student members are elected in the spring, to serve for not more than two yearsg the faculty members are appointed by the presidentg and the president himself serves as chairman ex officio for the group. liliil
