S 'N Fi S l , -5- --es.-es. H .YH -. .-if 'wi , Q, , c , .J-:ip esece-ao -Q I S rr: A if s I Class of June 25 The Sophomore I's carry the honor of being the largest class in E. H. S., having an enrollment of one hundred thirty-one students. b After passing through the joys and trials of our Freshman year, we now stand at the brink of what we hope will prove a successful career through the Emporia High School. ' Q We have four excellent advisors, Miss Thompson, Miss Wade, Miss Meeker, and Mr. Bashawg a fine group of officers, Ashel West, president, and Lucille Denny, secre- tary-treasurerg and many students who show exceptionally good talents in various ways. A As we look into' the future, we see a vision of a class whose members attend the school and class parties and meetings, who are strong boosters for athletics, and all school organizations, and last, but not least, which has a large percentage on the Honor Roll. This class may always be found boosting its school along the road to progress to the heights of glory. Thus our ambition is to do our best for E. H. S. in studies, ath- letics, spirit, and organizations, that we may always be remembered as a class which has served its school. Cl 1-'50 I, ' l lsbarg-f1f s at X SOPHOMORE I CLASS History ofsophomore l Class I fWith due apology to Caesarj The Emporia High School is divided into four parts, of which one part is the Seniors, another the Juniors, yet another the Sophomores and the fourth, the Fresh- men. All differ among themselves in size, dress and knowledge. Now of all the classes the members of the Sophomore class, especially the Sopho- more I's, attract a great deal of attention, this however, being less than that of the Freshmen class as they have been the fartherest removed from the culture and civiliza- tion of the Emporia High School. The Sophomore I class, having been organized in September 1921, Misses Secrest and Whitby, being their sponsors, began to take 'active part in school life. In 1922 Mrs. Snyder and Mr. South were added as sponsors. Many times have the Sophomores met around the camp fire, in various homes or the gymnasium for a lively frolic. If this were not so, the faculty m-ight have given them better grades. Those renowned among the Sophomore I's are: For brilliancy, Joe Dummg for generalship, Haimer Leeg for curly hair, Dorothy Clogstong for bashfulness, Ted New- comer, for fighting ability, Joe Cannon, for silence, Clifford Hush, for honesty, Overt Bible. z ,ttlz F ,.t, ..,, ,.tl,,at , . 1 Us 1, H 32 i 5 I4 ,l lf' YN, t fs 11-44 s-M---M J
